One of the most impressive features of the dam structure is the Treaty Tower which reaches 57.5 feet above the top of the dam. The tower commemorates the treaty between Canada and the United States. A 27x30 foot sculpture by sculptor Albert Wein was placed on the face of the tower and it symbolizes the harnessing of natural forces by man on the Kootenai River. The Visitor Center and Treaty Tower are open from late May to early September.
